Which Enema is best?

I see my Gastro Dr next week, thinking I need to change from Mesalamine Ene. Believe they cause allergic reaction, hives...which one ya'll recommend?

there are short term steroid options, and there are sulte free mesalanines - thats it

Thanks for your reply, guess Pentasa & Salfolk I've seen mentioned on here are Mesalamines also, need to read up on em. I'm on Balsalazide, generic of Rowasa.

Well a sulfite-free version (sf-rowasa) is best if you get them. As sulfites are an allergen in some.

Maybe you are allergic to something in the enemas but if you take Balsalazide doubtful it's the mesalamine. Probably something in the enema solution/suspension so ask for RX for Rowasa-sf (sulfite free) and give that a try so you can avoid steroid enemas.

Thanks, will ask for sf-Rowasa if I have to keep using them. Hoping if I continue with Blueberries & Serious Gluten free, I can get by without using them, or as often at least! It's been Wonderful going almost 2 wks without one, cause for Celebration for me! Calm down, can't get too excited!!😁
