Nervous about scope on Friday.

I have a colonoscopy on Friday and I'm nervous. I hate the prep, that's true, but I'm more nervous about what they will find or not find. I've been dealing with a lot of blood, urgency and basically feeling that my insides are going to come out by the end of the day. And I've been on pred for 2 weeks and corto enemas for one. No change. The doc finally upped my pred last night to 30 mg, but I'm only 120 lbs so she doesn't want to give me more than that without taking a look. I tend to go batty on higher doses.

Anyway, what are the chances she will not find anything? I had a sigmoid last year and there doc said it looked good - it was another doc (before I moved). I even saw it- I didn't think it looked bad at all! But my blood work two weeks ago showed elevation in lymphs and REd bloodcells but that was a only mild. I'm barely making it to the bathroom with explosive, bloody diarrhea. That's not normal, right?

But then I see people on here saying it could be hemmroids and stuff. I just hope it's not serious when we get in there and take a look. But j also don't want to look like an idiot if it turns out to be a major case of hemis. It really feels like my butt is gonna fall out- turn inside out. That's not normal, right?

I can't imagine not finding anything if you're having blood, urgency, & discomfort... I was on 40mg+ when I was 120 pounds. I guess you will see what's going on and make decisions from there. Prednisone, while effective, messes with you mentally and physically, and leaves you back in the state you began - unless you find an effective maintenance medication. Last time I flared badly, I figured I would rather take biologics and mess around with more courses of prednisone. Unfortunately I was a non-responder. At this point, I am thankful everything went how it did. I am much happier not worrying about diet and meds.

Sorry to hear you were having a tough time with the flare and pred. It's an amazing drug- for both good and bad reasons, unfortunately.
Biologics working well for you?

I wonder about the prep tomorrow- if it'll hurt worse than normal bc I'm so inflamed? Or if it won't make a difference. I'm dreading it if it is going to be worse than I feel right now.

Well, I've only had the one scope.
It didn't hurt. And from the photos my innards couldn't have been worse. open with oozing pus, bleeding, bright red.

By the time I got to the doctor I was a mess.
I felt like I was dying. Just fading away. I couldn't stay awake. I was sleeping on the toilet.
(We also lost our electricity while I did the prep and our pipes froze so I couldn't flush the toilet.)

They put in the IV, just saline solution and I revived!
I told them that was all I needed and I was ready to go home.
I guess I was that dehydrated.
