I am SO thankful to be in remission for the past 10 months I almost feel guilty for being unhappy with anything else, healthwise. However, I feel like my body is going haywire hormonally. I can't focus, I have terrible mood swings, I'm exhausted all the time - and my cycle is nuts. Some months it's 20 days, some months it's 42 days. Good times. Oh, and for the past 2 years I have been fighting the extra 10-15 lbs that have crept up on me - and when you are 5'1" that struggle gets real very quickly. I eat really well and exercise a ton but it doesn't budge.
I went to an endocrinologist and had my hormones tested - I honestly wondered if I was starting menopause. I'm not, I'm still ovulating, but my body is making no testosterone and no progesterone - so I have all this estrogen raging around and nothing to balance it. Oh, and my thyroid is sluggish as well. She put me on bioidentical testosterone as well as progesterone (the P just for days 12-26). I'm on day 4 of the T and am so anxious to see results and feel better. I am so miserable.
Has anyone else tried bio-identical hormones? I would especially love to hear success stories and also some reassurance that this won't last forever and I'm not as crazy as I feel.
