Hair loss from Mesalamine

Hi, I'm a new member and this is my first post on the forum! I was diagnosed with UC last September while on a student exchange abroad...fun...anyway I was put on mesalamine and immediately went into remission and have remained so. I didn't experience any significant side effects on mesalamine, however, in the past few weeks, I have been experiencing substantial hair loss. This really took me by surprise, but after some internet research I realised its a common experience for many UC sufferers who've used mesalasine. I slowly reduced my mesalamine dose and now I am completely off it (with the consent of my doctor).

I just wanted to ask anyone who had a similar experience, whether your hair recovered once you stopped the mesalasine and how long did it take to grow back? Also, does the same thing happen when you go back on the mesalsine?

Any info is appreciated :)
