Small Bowel Follow thru

Im having it tomorrow
today is just drinking clears and bowel prep
I am supposed to do it at 5pm but I think I will start it at 4pm
I bought diaper rash cream cuz the last bowel preps were very harsh on my skin

does anyone have any tips/suggestion/advice/moral support as I am very nervous
more nervous for the barium tomorrow than tonights prep

Put the cream on before the prep, it will build a little barrier to help protect the skin.

Good luck tomorrow. I remember they gave me something else instead of the barium because I recently had had surgery so they needed to use something else, I forget the name of it but maybe you can use something beside the barium. This was 15 days after my j-pouch surgery for my pouchograph, they were considering reversing me at that time.

Good luck....The test isn't all that bad. For me I felt like the worst part was how long it took.

The preps were terrible
The mag citrate didn't work so I took 4 doses of miralax.
The prep started working at 4am so I didn't get much sleep.

After I drank the barium it wasn't moving so they gave me another dose (YAY!) and it had stuff in it to increase motility. I kept running to the bathroom with Ds (also the bowel prep was still working) needless to say my depends came in very handy for when I couldn't get to the toilet in time.
The tech and radiologist could not have been nicer. I am so happy that I got those specific people. They made a terrible experience not so terrible. It took about 2 hours so not too bad
I also had a great nap when I got home

Ya next time I need a prep I know the magnesium won't be it.

Yes...as mentioned in your other thread, its normal when expelling the baruim. Should be much improved by tomorrow.

Let us know the outcome after you talk to the doc.

Well the doc called twoce, but both times I was in class.
He said in the voice message he is going to try me again tomorrow.
I think I'm going to have to step out of class to take the call. The issue is discussing it on the phone in the hallway will be quite awkward

I'd try not to worry, my conversation would go like this: "What were my results? Uh huh, yep. How about the jejunum and ileum? Still uc y/n? Can you send the results to me?" I could have that conversation anywhere and not be embarrassed, nobody would know what the heck I was talking about

Lol! Too bad the organic chem lab is across from the bio lab (it's the physical science building)
I can go to the bathroom and hope no one else comes in...
