So I had a pretty bad Flare back in February. Got on Remicade and Prednisone that month and started Mercaptopurine in March. My symptoms were basically gone by March while taking all 3 drugs, and I started lifting again. I lift weights 5 days a week and pretty heavily at that.
In March I also started to taper off Prednisone, and by May was fully off of it. By the time I was off Prednisone I had gained back most of the weight and strength that I had lost during the flare and was actually making quite impressive gains in the gym. After being off Prednisone a bit more than a month now, I'm noticing that I'm having a rather difficult time recovering from lifting. I stay sore for a lot longer and am hurting during my workouts.
Basically I'm trying to figure out if this is something that may be related to UC (like perhaps the Mercaptopurine isn't effective yet and the Remicade isn't quite effective enough on its own?) or if it's other things about my routine that I need to change.
Ideas?
