Hey everyone
Just a little note to say hang in there. I log into the site every so often to see if there is anything new around. When i was flaring the sitecwas a great help and comfort.

I think its good to know, especially for the recently diagnosed, that there are people like me around. I am not cured but have been in remission since 2007. One BM a day just like normal people without UC.

Unfortunately i have no remedy available. I take my medication like clockwork and i avoid yeast. I don't take any other supplements.

anyway hope this helps, you may get a long remission too and we don't know what other breakthroughs are around the corner.

Thanks for checking in. Always great to see that there are people out there who stay well for long periods of time. It gives us all hope.

Thanks for the encouragement! May I ask about the yeast limitation and why?

I gave up yeast mainly because I used to get alot of thrush. I don't know if it has any effect on the UC but I feel generally better without it and I think it helps - no science here. Basically I avoid yeast bread and i don't drink beer but I don't bother checking if it is in other foods.

I hope you all join me in the remission club soon.

Great to hear, beta!

My son who was dxed with pancolitis in 2006 has also been in remission since that initial flare, except for one slight blip in 2009. The GI said when he scoped him last year that he never would have believed it was the same colon!

It's nice to share some good news once in a while! :-)
