OT:Medicare wont pay for high strength Vicodin what the heck

I just came out of a root canal re-do, for a 5 year old failed root canal.
It was worse then getting a regular root canal done.
So he has these hand augers and electric ones, cleaning out the old stuff, but
he goes up past the end of the roots into the bone, on purpose.
Guess what even with a local it still hurts when you stick steel into your jaw bone.

Anyway drug store would only fill prescription if I paid for it, crap I pay 42 a month
for part D drug coverage, so I said screw it will tuff it out with naproxen.

They did say medicare would pay if used lower dose.

Must be too much abuse or something.

My rant for the day.

Oh by the way, this is now a 3000 plus dollar dead tooth, hope this works, or will
pull the dam thing out.

I am skipping the naproxen for now and trying VO.

Yeah, expect a lot of these type of rescrctions because of overuse.

I took my neighbor to her walk in urgent care, different health care company than mine. Jeez, right in front it had a sign saying they did not dispense pain medications and if you feel your condition warrants them, then you will need to go to a full service ER.

That's crazy. You could have gotten the lower dose and take 2 of them ;) Sometimes you just need a strong pain medicine. I have a stash from different times I needed something. Don't know how long they are good for, but I figure even if they aren't as potent if I ever need them at least I will have something other than Tylenol.

Guess too many people have gotten addicted so now they make it difficult/impossible for the majority who are responsible with those meds. I have always hated that ... punish everyone over the actions of a few

Well as of 2:18 am, everything seems fine,the steroids and VO seem to have done the job.
I am up because went to bed at 7, sitting on the pot now drinking coffee, so will be up for
the rest of the day.
I do find it interesting though,that this tooth went bad in 2011, I also had none bacterial
prostatitis in 2011.
I wonder if there is some kind of immune connection.

Like I said I could have got the drug if I paid for it myself, I still have the script so if needed
I could get it, but believe it has calmed down now.
Just made me mad that for legitimate use they restrict.
But perhaps just as well, this type of drug can stop your gut from moving, and I don't
want to mess with my colon, when unnecessary.

The dental industry is shying away from opiates and I applaud them. I also had a molar pulled and was told to take advil and tylenol together, one works on pain, the other on inflammation. Worked like a charm. I would not have taken opiates even if offered. 5 here are better alternatives out there for pain relief.

This has nothing to do with Vicodin, but as I said in my first post I had a root canal re-do,seems the
jaw bone was infected at the root tip due to root canal failure.

I have to wonder about immune activation in UC from say low grade root tip infections, that are
not detected. This just came out this am on artery disease.

The researchers also discovered that dental root tip infections were connected with a high level of serum antibodies related to common bacteria causing such infections. This shows that oral infections affect other parts of the body as well.

From some old studies I seem to remember they can find some pathogenic oral bacteria
in colons.
