Are you eating regularly, enough carbs/protein and taking in fluids? All those can cause headaches.

Maybe if you give the nurse a call and state that one side effect, that will at least be documanted.

I drank lots of water and ate more often today than what I've these past days - NO headache woo! Thank you!!

While it could be coincidence and yiu are getting used to the med......it's good no headaches.

Day 5: it's currently 8.44 pm. I've had only 1 BM so far and my headache has been light, only apparent when I haven't had anything to drink for a while - maybe the medication dehydrates the body? There's still blood and mucus but not as much as what used to be! I also don't feel such a strong urgency anymore.

I'm really hoping that it will continue to progress like this, maybe this will teach proctitis a lesson! turn

I also want to say a big thank you for everyone who are giving me suggestions and hoping that acetarsol will work blush

Acetarsol....i keep wanting to add an e at the end of it, lol. So appropriate.

Good today is a better one. I get more notable headaches from some meds and supplements. Some might just have a vasodialating or constricting effect, fluid retaining or dehydrating effect...each would affect us differently in a response.

Day 7: things are honestly just getting better and better and I'm so scared cause I keep expecting that it all will return and that this is just like 7 minutes in heaven..

I haven't seen blood in my stool since day 5 and I've only been to the toilet 1 every day!!

Also; my nurse called me in the morning and we decided that I should take the supps for another 3 weeks and then after 2 more weeks I'll lower the dose of the Pentasa sachets I take from 2 sachets á 2g a day to only 1.

Dont lower the pentasa until yiu aremoff the a.supps. they should be replaced with mesalamine supps and eventually TAPER down the oral Pentasa over a few weeks to a month or so.

Good you are improving....we do flare.
Take one success at a time and have preparations for when you regress.

I won't lower it before I'm off the arsenic but 2 weeks after. Oh so you mean that I should take mesalamine both orally and rectally? The thing is that pentasa/asacol supps don't work on me, they just come out again all soggy (sry for tmi)

So much goes on with arsenic and the immune system who knows what mechanism
might be causing the effect, some form of immune toxicity?

Imapro.....yes, im hoping you don't completely drop the mesalamine rectals. If yiur symptoms can be kicked in the butt by the arsenic supps, them that would be good. I'm hoping that the mesalamine could take over.

But...you are the first seen here with that treatment. Have you done mesalamine enemas?

Yes....supps such as mesalamine and steroid do come out messy once melted. Or do you mean still whole but soggy? Not tmi...it's what we talk about here.

I've actually never tried any sort of enemas, I'm actually not even sure what it is.. the closest I've come to enemas are steroid foams.

The pentasa used to come out almost as whole but in a soggy lump.

Is it smarter if I take rectals since I currently only have ulcerative proctitis? But isn't it good that the whole colon get some mesalamine to prevent the proctitis from developing further up?

Same, I never thought that it'd work. No, once I'm done with the 4 weeks I'm gonna stop all together and keep pentasa sachets as maintaines meds

I'm doing alright, I'm having a small "blip", I'll update you all about day 10 in just a minute (or well 120 seconds lol). Yes, it's really good to know that there might be another way out of this craphole, if it works I'll definitely recommend it to you if you need a new treatment to try out (from your signature) 💪and thank you!!

Day 10: The last 3 days have been one hell of a ride with fullspecked days. I've eaten loads of foods that I know I shouldn't. So, this is why my tummy has been having a fit..

Saturday morning I had a BM where there was only bloody mucus, both Saturday and Sunday I had 2 BMs. Today I've as of now (6.30pm) had 4 BMs and yeah.. atleast there have been no blood since sat morning.

I'm hoping that this is just a "blip" and that everything turns back into how it was day 7. Trying to stay positive! :)

Day 13: i have to this day seen no blood when going to the toilet and that makes me happy! Day 10 was Def. a blip going from 5 BM in a day to 1 BM the following!

Tho, I did have 3 BM today and it worries me.. like does it mean that my colon is still inflamed..? Am i never going to go into remission? All my BMs are of type 4 (shaped but smooth), I'm not sure but I've heard that a "normal" healthy person has type 3-4??

I've also started logging my food and symptoms once again since stopping about 2 weeks ago

Don't worry, as your bms will be anything but consistent when healing. It's normal to have more bms on occasion, there will be up and down days.

Id say healing...rectal inflammation thats limited in the rectum slows things down. Once inflammation is healing, bms might increase. Its possible you are eating a lot more of something? Or...IBS. or still mild inflammation that doesn't slow things down, or a now quicker moving digestive tract...

Are all your bms within a few hours then nothing? Or throughout the day? Urgency?

What are you eating on a daily basis and what supplements?

I don't think I have IBS because I can eat most things without getting gassy and stomach pain.. My BMs differ, like sometimes I go twice in the morning with like a few hours in between while sometimes it's only once in the morning and then nothing until like in the evening or just before going to sleep. I don't really have that much urgency, but if I do have its usually after the 1st BM, like a few hours later or like in the middle of the day.

I eat most stuff but I'm trying to limit dairy and red meat from my diet, I also try to avoid any sort of spicy food.

I don't really take supplements.. unless Actimel counts?

Day 15: I feel like I'm back on square 1..

Last night there was a bit of blood and this morning there was lumps of blood and mucus.. happy days happy days.. heh

I don't get it anymore, I just don't understand what I'm doing wrong..

One positive thing tho; I went from 3 BMs on day 13 to 2 BMs yesterday and today I have had 1 BM as of now (it's 11.40 am)

When I eat something bad there is nothing that I can take to prevent symptoms from returning. Supplements can allow me to recover more quickly but symptoms end only when I stop eating the offending foods.
