Sigmoidoscopy help please

I had a sigmoidoscopy on the 30th of august and when i had it done i was told the doctor ordered 2 biopsies. When i got out and got the report the doc had said everything looked normal. But on the report it said he had taken 4 biopsies. I am wondering if this was normal procedure? Also when looking at the screen i could see some little patches of red spots inside me. Im wondering if this is normal? Thank you

it takes training to sort out all the versions of red and splotchy inside of us. if it was described as "normal" I would go with that. the two biopsies could have been an initial guess to cover area, and then changes to 4 to go near interesting bits.

Just wait for pathologist report. nothing too irregular about procedures.

I get the results on the 30th of this month i suppose its just a waiting game :) Thank you for your response i really appreciate it as its given me a bit of comfort too know this is probs normal procedure. I was just confused as too why they took biopsies when things appeared "normal"

Biopsies are standard procedure for any scope whether a colonoscopy or a sigmoidoscopy and whether you look good or bad. Looking normal via eye is a good thing during a scope, congrats. Looking good through biopsy slides is even better and might mean you're in the promised land, remission with no signs of active disease. Sometimes the biopsies show minor, microscopic inflammation. They take around half a dozen biopsies, I don't know if a certain count is normal. It all depends how far they go, the further the more biopsies.
