There is not 'strong empirical data on both sides'.
And you are spreading misinformation when you try to suggest that 100% of vaccinated children got mumps in the recent Arkansas outbreak.
If you really cared about 'the science and the facts', you would not make claims without proper research.

The mumps vaccine takes at least two weeks to become effective. (It is never 100 per cent effective.)
The change in laws in Arkansas meant some parents of un-vaccinated children waited until the last minute to get it done. Symptoms take a few weeks to appear following infection. It is no coincidence that the outbreak occurred within a few weeks of the start of school (apparently spread from an interstate traveler.)

What is your definition of empirical data? Here is mine: Empirical evidence, also known as sense experience, is the knowledge or source of knowledge acquired by means of the senses, particularly by observation and experimentation.

I don't yet have the luxury of a fact checking team and have not fact checked the Arkansas case myself, it was data given to me with reporting from Family Physician Dr. Rachel , Cohost of the syndicated show The Doctors. If the information has changed since the original reporting, I'd be glad to retract my statement.

You claim an impressive scientific background, yet you base your information on a tv doctor!
Empirical data is a term used with extreme care in the world of science.
