Predisol and ibuprofen.

Morning all, hope you are all well.

Still on 20mg/100ml Predisol enema but feeling fine other than a really bad back.

Not sure whether its related but i have normal once a day BM, no blood no mucous but my back is killing me.

can i take Ibuprofen whilst on Predisol enema?

We can't take Ibuprofen at all due to UC. All NSAIDs are a major no-no. It can promote intestinal bleeding. However we can take Tylonel.

Ditto what Sherry said. Only Tylenol, Tylenol with Codeine #3, or generic acetaminophen for us.

When my UC is quiet, my GI did OK some Celebrix, which is in NSAID faimly but only works with COX-2 receptors, so avoids some of the problems of regular NSAIDS.

I use arthritis strength Tylenol for pain -- it's stronger than extra strength so you take less of them in 24 hours but usually with the stronger dose I usually only have to take it once or maybe twice to tackle 99% of any pains I might have

You might want to check into getting a TENS device (i have used Icy Hot, but am now seeing commercials for other brands too). You can get them OTC at most any drug store and are around $40. They work by giving you tiny electric shocks to alleviate pain and actually can really work. I hurt my back earlier this year and used them until I could get physical therapy and they used a professional version of TENS at the end of every session

Knowing I have UC, my Rhuemy doc gave me Mobic, which is an NSAID. I have taken it a couple of times with no ill effects but I wouldn't take it in a regular basis. It's quite effective at reducing pain.
