Hi, I was just looking for some thoughts or advice from anyone as I'm still struggling with this disease! A few years ago when I was 19 I had a lot of blood in my stools I wouldn't say I suffered particularly from bad diaorra tbh it was more the opposite my bowels weren't moving as much as they should and it felt like there was lots of trapped wind. Anyway long story short I got a colonoscopy was diagnosed with ulcerative coilitis and as the condition is so individual found it prettt hard to understand what exactly was wrong with me. I was prescribed tables after trying enemas and suppositories and the bleeding stopped I felt great bowels returned to normal. Didn't really keep up with my hospital appointments as I felt fine and tbh thought that was really me as far as I was concerned I suffered the condition mildly which tbh is till think I do but I'm i do realise and a little bit in denial about the whole thing. So now am 23 and am suffering a lot im waiting to return to the doctors my stomach is extremely sensitive and so bloated that I can't wear certain clothing as it's just painful the bloating is constant even when I do go to the toilet it's still very bad. Strangely this time though there hasn't been any blood or cramping. I'm extremely tired run down spotty and have had ulcers in my throats and a few months back a throat infection. I'm currently waiting to go to the hospital the doctor seems reluctant to prescribe anything he has ordered a blood test to see if there's inflammation currently I just feel like it's been a constant struggle with a disease recently that I don't understand and not many people do either so any advice would be much appreaciated.
Thanks ains
Im 23 and female (not sure how big an affect age and gender have with uc sufferes)
