I always marvel at how quickly things can turn for the better or for the worse. Last Thursday I came down with a cold/slight fever and my UC revolted against my body, 7 bloody bm's in 1 day was no fun. Now that I have been back on 4 lialda a day and nightly sfRowasa I feel pretty much back to normal. Perhaps it was just a blip in the radar, but I was bracing myself for a wicked flare like the one I had last fall. I have had 1 or 2 BM;s for the past 6 days with no bleeding at all. (fingers crossed I don't jinx this) I have a scope scheduled for next Monday, 10/10, so hopefully things will stay calm afterwards. It feels good when the meds actually work! Thanks to everyone who reminded me that I know how to handle this and to stick to my guns when I see my doctor. He is very conservative with meds and I often feel that I have to plead my case when i think I need more than he is prescribing, however when I saw him last week he told me I did the right thing by increasing my meds, that he doesn't want to see me make that downward spiral like I did last fall.
