Please help it's getting bad with the burning from throats to stool,

I've done the ph strips and they show about 7.25, almost normal range of ph. Maybe those things are not accurate?

Here are my symptoms

Burning at night from throat ALL through my Gut. It wakes me up and hurts until I take tums.
My butt burns from stool/diarrhea
I belch and burp even in the morning on a empty stomach
Gas and bloated from eating

Most times on a empty stomach it burn or sometimes not, but I eat to help the burn.

Has anyone really had to less of acid? Is there such a thing or do I have TOO much?im so confused by what I read in the internet saying people think they have too much acid, but really it's too low.

I've started digestive enzymes. I've tried omepzole, seems to help but gives me diarrhea and gas, does this go away? Maybe take it at night only? What other meds help?

I want to bowel rest, but the acid will burn if I just drink water ya know?

Please if you would, please write back and let me know some suggestions to help.

UC since '05, now in '15 Mayo Clinic say Chrons/colitis and DX with chronic Lyme's in '10. No biologics work. Took rafaximin for SIBO, worked awesome! Taking asacol HD.

Hi...i was going to ask if you had CD and not UC, but i see its CD.

I don't know much about ph, but it does differ throughout the digestive tract.....so the strips as a determiner might not be something you need to focus on.

Have you been tested for h. Pylori? And have had stool samples done?

The reflux....its a mechanical issue and isnt controlled by meds, unless by surgery to repair the stomach/ esophagus sphincter. The point of taking ppi meds or acid reducers are to help prevent erosion of the esophagus, throat, etc and causing issues there from the stomach acid. I know the zantac didnt help....what are all the ones you've tried?

Doing a bowel rest should be done on a doctors orders....and you would need to be on a supplement type product to lessen activity but still provide nutrition. Thats different than a fast, per se.

Have you tried a product such as welchol/questran?

Has your CD been fully explored as per location other than colon?

Have you tried other mesalamine meds such as apriso or pentasa?

Hi and thanks for helping. I tried Zantac as it brought some relief for a while this kicked back up, but again gas and diareea.
I tried omeprezole and that have more gas and have more diareeah. Lialda made my hair fall out and I can't remember what Pentasa did.
I will definitely get to the doctor soon. I haven't had a upper scope in 11 years! I will ask to get checked for h pylori too.
I haven't heard of whelcol , I will look that up.

I've had some real issues with acid reflux for about a decade now (runs in the family). I tried all kinds of OTC meds, until finally the doctor put me on Dexilant. It worked wonders. I didn't have any problems with reflux on it.

My insurance company dropped it and they put me on lansoprazole, which is like super Prevacid. It's not quite as effective as Dexilant, but it's also a lot less expensive. Even with insurance, I was paying almost $100 for Dexilant a month, whereas the lansoprazole is $10. I still have to watch what I eat (no pizza, and I'm regretting the Salisbury steak I had last night), but lansoprazole has been a big help.

Anyhow, you might want to try either of those. My reflux thinks Tums is candy and laughs at Zantac, but those two meds really did some good.

If it is throughout your entire GI tract then you might want to try Pepto Bismal. It works really well for me but different things work for different people. I'd ask your GI for guidance on Monday.

I have tried. Apple cider vinegar, probiotics, diflucan, wild oregano, coconut oil, vitamins, ppi s, antacids, etc... to help with the gut burning....today I went to urgent care after writing my post. They drew blood and I have to do a poop test, but my doc was ok with starting prevpac for h pylori before any results came in. I need some relief!! I have all the signs of this bacteria. I hope I start to feel better soon. I will keep you posted.

Hi no gas or bloating or belching. lt was contant before. I was burning in the morning on a empty stomach. Only day and half in on meds. My stomach is so flat I can't believe it! Compared to looking like i was pregnant before (ususally two hours after eating, in pain, blown up like a balloon, bathroom pains and bleeding)

I slept for 12 hours yesterday, I'm sure the meds are making me tired, but I haven't slept in months due to the burning during the night.

I will keep posting. I'm waiting on blood tests to come back and stool later this week.

How long will you be on the prevpac?

Have you never been checked out for h. Pylori in the past?....not to say it couldnt happen after a test.

Hi! Never been tested. My blood work was great other than elevated white blood , nurse said might mean infection or inflammation or both. I really feel better. There's gurgling from antibiotics, but no urgent or constant diarrhea.

YesI just called and the blood work for h pylori is a send out, I won't know for a few days
