If you need an uplift post, here is one.
So me and the wife go to local restaurant/bar for dinner, and we sat at the bar.
I ask the bartender if they had any specials for vets.
They had some at lunch. No go for dinner.
Anyway this lady is standing there paying her bill.
She had bought a bunch of vets dinner.
She say to the bartender buy them, meaning us their drinks.
I thank her.
By the time she left she also bought dinner for both of us.
Random act of kindness.
I tried to sort of talk her out of it, a drink is one thing, dinner for
both of us is something else.
She is a cafeteria lady.
Oh, if you were wondering I had a VO Manhattan, and a IPA.
Dinner fried flounder, with Guinness batter, and cornflake crust.
So much for my gut tomorrow.
The other somewhat funny thing was, we started talking when I went to Korea in 1971.
She says, I was not even a gleam in my mothers eye, I say how come, she says my
mother was 10.
And that is why I call myself old mike.
End of story.
