bubbling sensation in the tailbone area

That's not actually my problem, but one girl from the Polish uc forum has asked me to post this thread to get your opinion (she doesn't speak English). She was diagnosed with (rather mild) uc last year, now she's on maintenance dose of mesalazine, symptoms under control. However, during the night she has got air bubble feeling inside her tailbone area, especially when she changes the position. Sometimes it may happen during the day, only with abrupt movements. She's worried if it is a sign of inflammation creeping in. Have u ever got similar sensations?

I dont like hearing anything about the tailbone area.
Son #1 about 6 months after his j-pouch surgery was done he started to experience
pain in the tailbone, turns out it was a pilonidal cyst, after emergency surgery
all was well, he had a grapefruit sized puss ball in there.

thanks so much for your answers (on Kasia's behalf), i translated her everything. She said she has neither pain nor swelling and it's not rectum, but somewhere around the tailbone. imo, it looks like intestinal gas, but of course with uc we mustn't belittle any symptoms so i understand her concern. btw - is fistula always accompanied by pain or can it develop without any symptoms? OM - hope your both sons are ok
