Hi! I'm new to this forum but I might help you because I am struggling with C-diff for the second time this year. I am right now on a 45 days Vanco treatment. The symptoms I was dealing with was the same as yours right now.
I wouldn't be surprise the treatment wasn't strong enough for you, the diarrhea and losing water should have stop in the 48h after starting Vanco (well, that's how my GI works). The only thing that could help you right now is to get back on Vanco, maybe get IV antibiotics (they gave me flagyl at the hospital 2 weeks ago) and some IV fluids from hospital (feels so good!). At home, drink only water with pedialyte or mineral water, hydration is really hard on c-diff...
My advice, 3hrs after finishing your last antibiotic, starts high dose of probiotics and boulardii! It's vital so you don't get infected again and again. (I should have done that so bad!) While on Vanco, I don't think probiotics worth it because Vanco is too strong.
ERRATUM : It is recommanded to take probiotics even with antibiotics, you have to space them of 2hrs. And boulardii doesn't interract with antibiotics.
Also you are probably contagious right now for people and yourself! As long as you have diarrhea, wash everything you touch before washing your hands in your bathroom with Javel and make shure to wash you hands for a minute after going to the toilet and a few minutes before eating anything! Purel doesn't work against C-diff.
It's really hard to gain weight after c-diff. I do struggle very hard with this. I did gain back 9 pounds since Vanco, but I still have at least 10 pounds to gain back.... Try protein shakes between meals and ghee everywhere... When the antibiotic will kick in, you should be able to digest again
Oh and they confirm me at the hospital, Prednisone can hide C-diff symptoms like fever ...
Hope this helps and this will be a one-time c-diff!
