Anyone try the supplement repairvite?

Hi,

Just had my first flare-up (non-stop bloody diarrhea for the last 2 weeks) so I decided to start working with a nutritionist. She had lots of great food recommendations, but I'm just curious as to what your experiences have been with repairvite, if any.

Diagnosed with UC in July 2016.

Currently taking 2 mesalamine suppositories per day plus 1 Pentasa enema nightly

nothing oral ? how much colon involvement ?

Try whatever diet you like. The think with using supplements with many ingredients is that you might be sensitive to something in it. Maybe try it once you start to improve..

How were you diagnosed...via sig-scope or c-scope?

You should be on an oral mesalamine as well.....absolutely.

I'm not taking anything oral. I'm going to see the doctor in a few days (hard to get an appointment). I'm hoping for a prescription change then.

I was diagnosed through a sigmoidoscopy. I had one sigmoidoscopy in July and another one in November. The problem was always in 2 centimeters of the rectum. I will have another sigmoidoscopy on Wednesday. Hope it hasn't spread.

I'm an American located in Denmark (for the past few years) and getting treatment in Denmark.

Your symptoms say it has if it is UC.....otherwise, it's possibly an invader or you might have another patch on the cecum or possibly other areas that might indicate CD.

You really need a full colonoscopy. I would suggest to not accept another sig scope before having one with full biopsies throughout including cecum and one into terminal ileum.

The oral med I suggest would be mesalamine. You also need stool samples done to rule out anything else.

Are yiur enemas a 1g dosage? You can ask for stronger, up to 4g.

Don't know anyone who has tried RepairVite but its three major ingredients, glutamine, DGL, and Aloe Vera are popular supplements here. So it might be good stuff.

It also has a proprietary blend: 1510 mg* of Lactase, Maltase, Invertase,Amylase, Marshmallow extract (root), Slippery Elm extract (bark), Gamma Oryzanol, MSM (methylsulfonylmethane), Spanish Moss (tillandsia usneoides) (whole plant), German Chamomile extract (flower), Marigold extract (calendula officinalis) (flower), Cellulase.

The enema is a 1g dosage.

Several of you have said that I need a colonoscopy. Thank you. This gives me more incentive to push the doctors to get one. I asked for one several times before my symptoms got worse and they insisted that my case was mild and that there was no need for one.

The reason a full colonscopy is helpful is that Crohn's disease has what's known as "skip lesions" in medical jargon. Meaning, that there are inflammed areas followed by normal areas, which is followed by inflammed areas. Ulcerative colitis is continuous (distal in medical jargon) beginning at the rectum and going further up. Often Crohn's has involvement in the ileum (where the small and large intestines join).

I have used Repairvite! A naturopath recommended it to me during my first flare 4 years ago. I found it very soothing- I am taking it again now in remission to seal and protect my gut. I am a fan.

There is a diet that you can do with it too- not sure if your practitioner talked to you about that. I don't remember specifics but you could probably find it online- lots of meat and veggies.

Hi there, I have used repairavite! I really liked it. Its kinda expensive so I didnt continue only because i couldnt buy another jar.
It made my belly feel comforted relaxed and symptoms reduced.
How is it working for you?
