I should've explained the protocol how the study works. There is a part of the site that asks questions whether you are eligible or not. **You need to be off biologics at least 3 months prior** is a major component especially. The part of the site to see if you can take part is here: https://seres101study.com/can-i-take-part/
Once you finish it, you can see whether you are eligible or not. You'll be asked to provide a name, number, and email. They contacted me through email and asked what times I'm available to talk, once I did someone got in touch with me and emailed me a list of coordinators based on my state, I'm currently in Weill Medical College of Cornell University. They do a few tests like urine, blood, stool tests during the pre screening visit. I also had a sigmoidoscopy done, where they determined whether or not my disease is considered for this study (based on severity of symptoms, medical records, current medication list, and the sigmoidoscopy. Once you're considered for the study, they make you take vancomycin antibiotic for 6 days. 4 tablets a day. PamSmith, the only symptoms I had were just bloating and diarrhea, but it seems to have subsided quickly. I have noticed I'm starting to make more formed stools than before, so I feel like it is helping more than my normal routine. I had to discontinue taking any painkillers, probiotics, and an enteragam supplement that my doctor prescribed me after my most recent colonoscopy in December, I've been on biological medication in the past (remicade, simponi, entyvio) and to be honest, none of them worked well on me so I have very high hopes in this study. And as iPoop has stated, it is similar to an FMT, similar to a probiotic but there is more to it than that.
