Hello -
first time poster here. I have been reading a lot of testimonies and tips over the last years. What a great resource all of you have been for me. Thank you.
I have been suffering from UC for 27 years, tried every medicine most of you had been on, had a partial colectomy 3 years ago, but choose to have a small non-inflamed part of the colon still with me (.... that's risky, I know). The first 2 years after the surgery I felt great, but bleeding + super loose stools started again about
a year ago. I felt depressed and low energy for 6 months. I thought I had tried everything.
Thanks to this forum 4 months ago I read about
Qing Dai (about
1 gram twice a day). Ordered is (about
$15 for 100 grams) and my diarrhea and bleeding stopped within one day - and hasn't come back yet! I'm off all other medication now. I had taken my fare share of prednisone, but never had such an immediate response. I have more energy than I had in years. I know that UC is more a collection of symptoms with a many different underlying causes. Finding what works for you can take years, and even then it might only work for some time. That's why I waited 4 months to write about
Qing Dai. I am more hopeful than I have been in decades.
Thank you all again for helping me with your posts, I'll keep reading. You gave me new hope and I kept on searching thanks to you.

Glad you're feeling better and seeing improvement. Yeah, Qing Dai is talked about
some.

Interesting, where do you buy it?

Bought the first at Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/Qing-Dai-Concentrated-Granules-Treasure/dp/B01DJUJ7AG/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1486084254&sr=8-1&keywords=Qing+Dai
Then bought one locally at
http://www.berkeleyacupuncture.net/
The second one seems to be stronger, but the the first one tastes better. I take both randomly, dependent on how I feel about
taste.

There are many good scientific studies about
Qing Dai that came out in the last 6 years. I think that one should treat this as real medicine as well, it just hasn't been studied as much in western medicine as our usual drugs (double blind studies, etc.). It seems to have a good track record in Asia, where it has been used for years - but some liver inflammation has been reported. I am a willing guinea pig and since it worked so well thus far I will continue.

Just had a flexible sigmoidoscopy last week. No inflammation at all, first time in now 28 years. Even my doctor was surprised and wanted to know what I did differently: 2g of Qing Dai a day, 1 tbs amla powder, 1 tbs Moringa leaves powder, 2g Curcumin, 1 Tbs flax seed. Still can't believe it. Please try Qing Dai if you have (like me) tried everything else.

Dawgg what temperatures is it supposed to be stored at? I'm afraid it would get too hot in my mailbox.

Yeah Moringa is an interesting one. Lots of people are starting to grow it in the west. First time I took it I got severe diarrhea, the next day severe constipation, over time it balanced out. Can't explain it but it has definitely improved my inflammation which is one of the claims among so many others. My friend gave me a tree so I'll have a constant supply now. I dry up the leaves in a box outside and powderize it in a food processor.
I'll definitely give Qing Dai a try. Thanks for sharing.

Qing Dai is the main ingredient in what I take. I started in 2009 and is the only think I take.

I pick up Qing Dai at a local TCM clinic. I wish I would know more about
storage temperatures, but I don't. It doesn't seem to be all that sensible to some heat.
I sometimes wish I would have found Qing Dai sooner, but feel I got lucky that it has such a profound effect on my UC. When I looked at the monitor during the sigmoidoscopy (that's all the colon I have left) I couldn't believe I really had no inflammation at all -- sorry to repeat myself, but most of you can probably guess how different this feels.
I wish my Moringa trees would grow a little better, currently I'm using powder.

Thanks Dawgg! I'm going to check this out. The Prednisone isn't working too well.

So do you just go to Berkeley Acupuncture and ask for "Qing Dai"? Or do you have to have an appointment with them / be seen by them?
How do you pronounce it?
There was a news story a few months ago about
a lady dying in SF from taking Chinese Herbs from a Chinatown shop and I'm super paranoid about
drinking random powders from random shops. Appreciate your help!

Yes, you just stop by and ask for it, pronounced as "Shing Dai". Takes them about
5 minutes to pulverize the leaves and pack up. 100g are about
$14, I always buy 200g for about
$22. Get it in a plastic bottle and not just a bag, costs more, but much easier to handle. I hope it will work for you as well.
I share your concerns about
purity and the lack of standards in TCM, especially since there are many stories about
heavy metals and steroids in some powders. For me it was a risk worth taking, especially since Berkeley Acupuncture appears to be very well run.

I do when symptoms come back, which happens very rarely now. 2x1gr is sufficient for me for a few days. I hope it works for you too. Just checked and saw that you can buy it on Amazon again for about
$28 per 100g. Treasure of the East.

I noticed Amazon is out of stock of the Qing Dai from the east.
There are many 100% indigo powders people use for hair dye availalbe on Amazon.
If it's just plain indigo, wouldn't it work too?
Or is it not safe?

Anyone managed to get a good source in the UK? I too am a bit worried about
buying the hair dye variant and would prefer a GMO it organic version if possible?
