"Fecal microbiota therapy that was prepared anaerobically from pooled donor material was more effective than placebo at 1 week for inducing remission in patients with active ulcerative colitis, according to data from an Australian randomized controlled trial presented at the 12th Congress of the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organization."

"The investigators concluded that this low-dose, short-duration FMT protocol was more effective than placebo for inducing both clinical and endoscopic remission at 8 weeks in patients with active UC."

Interesting that material was prepared ANAEROBICALLY; it's known that exposure to oxygen will kill some species of gut bacteria. Hard to do this with home-brew FMT.
