Fissure slight urgency?

Hello guys, can fissures cause urgency and bowl spasms? Seen my GI he prescribed me nifedipine gel for my painful angonising fissure and have to Do a stool test to check for inflammation.. I'm experiencing a little blood randomly but not daily.. just wondering if fissures can make your bowl more sensitive and spasim into bowl movements.. I get urgency after eating majority of the time,l..

The fissure could cause pain which causes your muscle to spasms. Also, it can cause your muscle to clamp up and you won't be able to fully empty. That in return could mean more trips and "urgency".

Are you in canada or US? If you're in Canada, I would suggest asking the doc for proctocedyl ointment and suppositories.

Yes, you can use the mesalamine nightly or alternate or use the predsol during themday and mesalamine at night, or ask for suppositories to use during the day and a topical whenever.

I've had external hemmies and a fissure cause extreme discomfort during the day....but not the same as flaring spasming. Both at the same time are definitely constant and confusing.

a small amount of sporadic blood could be only a fissure...if mixed with mucus, I'd lean towards flare. Covering both is a good thing.
