12 days after colonoscopy

Hello, I had a colonoscopy done Feb 16 2017. Everything was fine, no biopsies were needed. No Polyps were found. There was infection, a tear and an abscess on the inside of the right cheek. I was given Amoxi clav 500/125 MG for the infection one pill every 8 hours for ten days. I was also given Dil Tiazem 2% Topical ointment twice daily.

On the last day of my antibiotics (one pill left) I started to have severe abdominal pain and a lot of "gurgling" in the stomach. I was fine the day before, had decent meals. Bowel movements were ok. Still discharge from the infection but no pain.

I have an appointment follow up on the 23 of March. Can someone enlighten me?

Hi Katrina, thanks for the reply. Before the scope I might have had one or two episodes of stomach/pain/ache (almost like a menstrual pain) but nothing like this. Continuous pain and "gurgling in the stomach. I was thinking it might have been the antibiotic. I had to take pill with food and I'm not a big morning person to eat. So I took the pill with a Jello cup lol. Maybe that wasn't enough food and that is what is bothering me. I am done with the antibiotic as of 7 am Feb 27.

I've been eating dry soda biscuits and soup and had decent bowel movement tonight but pain/ache is still bothersome.

Ditto what DBwithUC said. Ask for a stool test to see if you got cdiff.
