It seems like you have a good idea of what you are doing and what you want to do. I would say you should do all of the things you listed. We have to be our own advocate and if these are the questions you have, you are allowed to ask or even demand them if necessary. I think a responsible doctor would listen to your concerns and do what was in their power to answer the questions you have. You also have the option to go somewhere else or see someone else. I know it was really overwhelming for me to start over. I was under Kaiser for basically my entire childhood until I was probably 26, after a ton of health issues arose. It was really daunting to me to start over, but it was the best thing I have ever done for my health. When I changed my team, I got new options and answers.
Check out Fecal Microbial Transplant. Not a drug, just a simple procedure during a colonoscopy. I had two, within about
3 months of each other and I am sitting here about
90% better. I also take low dose naltrexone at 4.5mg, which you can get a prescript
ion for through a naturopathic physician. That combo gave me my life back. I would also recommend this probiotic:
(removed amazon link with referral code)
And this glutamine powder, made specific to heal the gut. This was recommended to me by an MD who was known in my county for his supplement knowledge:
perm a vite powder 300-grams 10.6-oz. (removed URL to merchant site)
(I believe you're just trying to be helpful, but please no links to commercial sites selling products. You also had referral codes in there, so somebody was getting cash there... please read the forum rules)
