UGH! I just started macrobid for a UTI. This is all I need right now. Please keep your fingers crossed that I do not get C-diff or it causes a flare. I just can't deal with one or the other right now. Deep breath....in and out...breath slowly. [sigh]

try the probiotic florassist with phages (Life Extension) - it's just a miracle for UTI! there's also d-mannose, i've heard it's great too.

I second probiotics as a precaution.

Thanks!! Yep, taking 2 pills a day currently and getting ready to bump that up to 3 a day. And I'm eating a bowl a day of my homemade sauerkraut...lots of natural occurring pro and prebiotics.

D-mannose works great for me. Last 2 UTIs used that and probiotic instead antibiotics. It even got rid of my nasty post surgery UTI.

I second d-mannose, I honestly don't know where I'd be without it, I used to get monthly (yep monthly!) UTIs, coinciding with my period. I now only get one every few years, and I am much more lax these days.
