How long you have been on 6mp or you know of someone on 6mp?

I am on 6mp for 3 1/2 year and doing ok. My liver function is little high and my GI is not concern. He thinks it is because I have fatty liver and not from 6mp.

I trust him 100% as he takes every little symptom and test seriously. But I am wondering what is the longest time you have taken or you have seen someone taking 6mp.

I've been on 6mp 3+ years and no liver test anomalies.

This was 1st used as a drug to prevent rejection of transplanted organs, and people took higher doses for decades (or rest of their life).

If your liver numbers are high have you had a Thioprine Metabolites blood test? Wondering if that might provide additional info for or against you liver numbers being weird. Were the weird levels from a Hepatic Function Panel blood test?

Not hijacking thread, but could you just let me know if this is also true of cyclosporine? I know that can be used for transplants, any idea how long people have been on it?

@ipoop- Thank you. Yes I had TPMT test before I started and I also had Thiopurine monitor test(like TGN..). My ALT is like 35 with high normal 29. He thinks if it is from medicine, it will keep going high and its not too high so he is not concern. He has done monitoring test multiple times(Happy that my insurance paid for each time) and that's why I trust him because he does not take anything granted and he seems OK with ALT little high.

I've been on it for two years. I go for bloodwork every six months. So far, everything is good.
