Over a month ago my alternative doctor asked me the color of the red discharge I was having; I told him bright red, to which he answered it's hemorrhoids; then I had a colonoscopy 2 weeks ago and the gastro doctor said I have colitis. I went back to the alternative doctor with photos and he said, it's yeast. I did have itching in the rectal area, apparently an indicator. So I started taking foods like yogurt and kefir, which is the opposite of what's recommended for uc. Now, I just started Canasa, which helped me a lot more than 11 years ago. (was in remission all these years). Today I see heavy bright red blood but not in the stool. The yellow stuff that I was discharging constantly (pus??) did stop. I don't know what's going on and don't know how to eat. Any ideas? My daughter physician says the gastrointerologist saw my colon so he should know what I have. I am totally confused as to what to eat and how to handle this. The gastro doctor recommended Canasa and Lialda but after reading from folks on this chat, that they had horrible headaches from Lialda, I never took it. And Canasa is excrutionately expensive but would continue taking it if I knew what was going on.
