I do think that steroids help with being able to eat foods that we probably shouldn't or are unable to eat when not on steroids. I usually feel so well on my high steroid dose that after a few weeks, which generally coincides with a 30 mg/day dose, I get over-confident and hungry (and feeling deprived) and eat sugar or gluten, etc. Then I end up with some symptoms, which usually coincides with a steroid reduction to 20 mg, which I usually end up blaming on the lower steroid dose (the symptoms). But is that true? Or is it the food I've eaten? It's *really* hard to tell, so probably the best advice is to keep at the diet/food diary while reducing steroids, and then to keep at if you are able to successfully stop. Only then will you be able to tell for sure (IMO) if the food is affecting you.
Now, to follow my own advice!
