So just when I was doing great a month in of being diagnosed with UC, my pancreas starts up. Long story short, upon finding out I had UC, Doc put me on Lialda. Within a week and a half of taking it I started experiencing an uncomfortable pain on the upper left side of my belly. Sure enough blood tests were done, I had acute pancreatitis. I was taken off Lialda immediately put on Humira, the AP went away and I thought I was good! I felt good for a while too! I started running, eating normal, normal BMs.. life was good! Just recently this past weekend to be exact I felt that old familiar feeling coming back. The pain on the left side started mild, I thought it would subside in a couple of days, by Sunday I felt like I could barely breathe. Went to the ER and they admitted me. I was on a no food or water just an IV for about 2 and a half days. I had an MRI done which showed my inflamed pancreas and an endoscopy done just to make sure it wasn't stomach ulcers. Negative on the stomach ulcers. Within a day of those I got to eat a meal, which I chose a burrito with cheese and egg, and I had no pain. I was released within a couple hours of my meal and sent home. After release I felt a mild pain come back. I was told to come back to the ER if I have excruciating pain or if I vomit. I haven't had either but I am in pain still. I am on a clear liquid diet. I am not even hungry bc I think my body knows it'll be in more pain if I eat. My question to everyone out there with similar experience is: how long should I be expecting to feel this pain? How long should I stay on this clear liquid diet (i Know its definitely not healthy), and at what point do I go back?
