nausea from sedation

Well i guess when it rains it really pours. After a tough month in the hospital recovering from pan colitis and then being lucky enough to have remicade salvage therapy I was given a follow up endoscope and flex sig.
It went well and but the day of in the afternoon i started having nausea. 4 days later i am having intermittent nausea. The GI who i very much respects says he doesn't believe it is related to the colitis and very well could be an intolerance to the sedation. Has anyone heard of such a thing? I guess the good news is that i don't even notice my colitis symptoms which happily are slowly going into remission. But nausea is not the best replacement.....

I always get really nauseous from sedation, but it only lasts a few hours or the rest of the day. I now have them give me an anti-nausea medication during the procedure. The last sigmoidoscopy was the best -- not sure what he used, but I had no nausea at all.

The colonoscopy last year I was semi-aware during part of it, and I think they used fentanyl as the sedation, and I had only minor nausea.

Be sure from now on that you tell them you get nausea from the sedation! And repeat and remind them when you're on the table.

a few hours of nausea is really common to a lot of anesthetics

Never heard of anesthesia having an effect for days afterward.... seems pretty weird to me. Talk to your anesthesiologist, if you can.

Everything makes me nauseous. I take a lot of zofran when I am in the hospital.
