Hey Ya'll!
I was diagnosed me with Ulcerative Proctitis this January. I'm 22 years old. Luckily I'm in remission right now feeling pretty good for the most part. about a month ago I started getting weird rashes. In January I did an elimination diet taking out dairy and gluten to see how my body would react. My skin cleared up and I became less bloated so it was great! As I started reintroducing dairy and gluten in my diet again these hive looking spots would appear on my neck, legs, arms, etc. My doctor took me off the enema medication thinking it was that. He told me this can be a side effect of UC.
I don't know if a certain food is a cause of my skin having an allergic reactions. My doctor says diet does not affect UC. That's hard for me to believe because I know certain foods can cause the body inflammation. Have any of you noticed any particular foods that help/hurt your UC? Anyone experience similar rashes?
Right now I'm eating pretty clean (no gluten/dairy/processed). I eat a lot of nuts, eggs, grains, potatoes, meat, fish, fruit, and veggies. I actually enjoy natural tasting healthy foods! I want to heal my body with food as much as I can.
I am having a hard time posting images, so if you need to see some to better understand, let me know.
Thank you for your help!
Lexi
