Hi, I recently lost my health insurance due to high cost. I became disabled in March of 2016. I filed for SSDI and was approved but am not eligible for Medicare until March of 2018. I still dont understand why the 2 year wait for Medicare but I am told that is the norm. Anyway my state (Illinois) says I dont qualify for Medicaid because I make too much on disability which is a joke after I pay my mortgage, car, utilities, and house expenses I am in the red with no money left for my prescriptions. My GI doc says i need to go on Humira for my moderate to severe UC but there is no way I can afford that at this time. I am on disability due to an amputation of my right leg below the knee. Anyway is there a prescription program out there that can help me with my meds? Right now I am on Lialda, Azathioprine, and Prednisone and I have less then a month supply left for all. Doc is keeping me on Prednisone right now till i can get on Humira. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
p.s. I also do not qualify for early Obamacare enrollment either.
