Pooped my pants today and I'm pretty confused

Flaring for the last couple weeks, but was never really bad. 4 diarrhea movements a day at worst, started nightly enemas and back to solid pops 1-3 times a day. I'm still doing nightly enemas because I assume I still have more healing to do, but I feel good. The sick lack of appetite and exhaustion etc has all passed. This morning I had two perfectly formed poops, nothing to suggest any trouble, then this afternoon literally out of nowhere I shat my pants! I was putting my kid in the car, instantly had to poop and as I was working out the best bathroom to go to I pooped right there in my pants. It was a full load too, not mucus or anything. I've of course had accidents before but never like this. This seemed out of no where and there was no attempt to hold it it just came out! Obviously I'm upset that I crapped myself, but really I'm more confused than anything???? Thoughts? Should I get my GE involved at this point?

I remember I crapped myself one time in high school walking home from the bus stop and had the sudden need to go and couldn't hold it. I remember I cried and cried so much after it and what this dreaded disease does. Then I was in a long-term relationship with a healthy guy and he crapped himself like at least 4 times while we were together, no bowel issues, but just got sick a few times (and sometimes wasn't even sick) and I just realized that sometimes it just happens, no rhyme or reason, and it kinda sounds like this was what happened in your case.

U don't mention what ur symptoms r when u eat dairy.
If it's related to the runs, gas and pain, u maybe eating dairy and know it. I have become SO sensitive to dairy, that even the tiniest amounts of dairy by products now affects me. It also gives me vertigo and tinnitus. ( ringing in the ear).
Of course I'm sure read labels on foods if ur not sure about it containing dairy. But here are just a few more forms of COMMONLY found dairy byproducts. Whey, casinate, sodium casinate. Casinate or casein is milk protein. Why is the watery liquid that will separate. Also sodium proprianate. This is milk salt.
All of the above are found in bread crackers deserts protein drinks
Margerine. Watch out for Foods on the label saying NON DAIRY. Read the back just to make sure.
Many years ago, non dairycreamer was told to the consumer it was non dairy. It wasn't. I called the company of this product and they said " the FDA conciders it so far removed from the original milk , it's no dairy"
Mean while, meanwhile I'd been having EXPLOSIVE 😳 Sh$ts. Lol.
Took me a few years to figure it all out actually. 30 yrs ago if u asked for a pizza with no cheese, well....... it just wasn't done! Lol.
I would kindly explain, it's a topping. I don't want that topping on my pizza.
Even medication. A little pill. I'd been doing great for months. Finally figured it all out. Really.
Then one day it started again. I got that slight icky flu feeling and my gut started to roil and boil.
Anyway. Lightbull moment. I called the pharmacy and asked they read me the ingredient list.
Yup. Sho nuff. Had lactose in it.
I really was shocked just had reactive my poor tummy had become.
I tested this new thing several times with vitamins
It really only took a pinch to affect me.
Dairy creates mucus.
Mucus get in the eustasia tubes in the ear.
Sometimes my ears would even feel a little wet inside. Like I'd just come from a shower.
Sometimes they would itch deep inside where the sinus drains.
Almost always I would look about 5 months pregnant. Big gassy belly.
I'm skinny.
It always caused HORRIBLE pain on the right hand side of my intestines.
Before I knew it was dairy related , I actually went to the ER. I WAS IN SO MUCH PAIN. I thot maybe I was having appendicitis rupture!!
It was just CRAZY PAINFULL. It would last for several hours.
Then there was the vertigo. ARRRRGH! all this from dairy products.
If your reactive to dairy, most of those lactose free milks and ice creams don't really work. Besides most people r allergic to the protein not the sugar.
Plus, when u think about it.... no other animals consumes another animals milk. ( unless it's because humans r involved in saving a pet whose mother can't nurse)
Nope just doesn't happen. No other animal consumes its mothers milk after it's an adult.
As we get older we produce less LACTASE. This is what digest lactose and other milk byproducts.

This didn't start for me till I was about 25 yrs old.
There was no internet. Hardly any alternative drs to go to. Maybe
Ur chiropractor would listen and try to help figure out what's wrong.
In fact I even went that route.
But I still had to figure it out myself.
I've learned how to make wonderful non dairy meals from scratch using milk substitutes.
If one is to become dairy intolerant for what ever the reason,
Now is a great time.
So many milk substitutes out there. Even yogurts. But read the label. Makes sure the base isn't dairy. The acidophilus has to non dairy too.
Yup. I learned that the hard way too. Lol

My reasons for not being able to consume dairy maybe different. But it's enough to just make me say NO! Lol.
The pain just isn't worth it to me.
On a good note. I NEVER EVER have to watch my weight anymore. Lol.
No dairy keeps me slim.

Ooh they look so good. Nope I have to eat sorbet. Which is yummy. But not creamy. So I add a little nut milk to it.
Can't eat pudding. Unless I make it from scratch using non dairy milk sub.
I miss REAL BUTTER on my baked potatoes. But have found other yummy subs. There is even a co. Out now that makes non dairysourcream and non dairy cream cheese. it's not exact tasting. But after this many years it's a treat.

So sorry to hear this! I know how frustrating it is, and joe embarrassing it can be too. I'd suggest calling the doc too. Even if it's a bug, idk if a bug would cause you to go that quickly without much notice. Hang in there!

That happened to me too last week. Thought it was gas. Thankfully was home at the time. UC is no fun!

If you had an accident then you're flaring badly and need to adjust your meds.

How long will you be on vacation?

Did you bring extra meds?

You can always take imodium an hour before going sightseeing. You can temporarily, greatly reduce your eating (less input = less output). Avoid caffeine and avoid alcohol.
