I'm a Crohnie. Due to an unresponsive rectum to Remicade, my GI decided to add Cortiment to my treatment. Actually, I have been on entocort for 5 years and a half and had to be switched to Cortiment. I was against the idea of switching to Cortiment as I thought this transition won't be smooth.
Four days ago, I started Cortiment. At the beginning, I felt withdrawal symptoms and still do like dizziness, fatigue, muscle ache but decided to put up w all this.
My problem is that I feel that the tightness and pressure increased after taking Cortiment. I know 4 days are not enough to judge the effectiveness. I still wake up from sleep every day and take a colifoam enema. I apply GTN cream and Anusol HC to ease the tightness and spasm. But the soreness really annoys me, it's very painful. It's true that I'm starting to have formed bms which I haven't had for years. I know I have to wait as I have no other option now.
I remember it took entocort 6 weeks to kick in when I started it more than 5 years ago. What about Cortiment? When does it kick in?
