Budenoside for left sided UC?

So, I have been reading this forum incessantly and decided just now to investigate the new medication I just picked up from the pharmacy.

My RX is to take 3 x per day, 1 pill (each 3mg.) for 30 days.

Now.....I would never question this, but one of the very first posts I read was this one :

**Oral budesonide, known as entocort in the US, is effective on the right side of the colon (terminal ileum, cecum). I used it for a few months several years ago, but I had inflammation in that region. If you don't, I'm not sure what the benefit would be.**

This sounds counterintuitive in a sense to me, since my diagnosis is chronic UC which is located almost entirely in the rectum with just an inch or less of inflammation in the cecum. My new doctor said she wanted to do biopsies further into the colon (previous were only rectal) and to rule our crown's A new one is scheduled a new scope next month.

She also hasn't prescribed any rectal meds although I am currently using up what I have (alternating mesalamine and hydrocortisone) ----both of which I believe I quit prematurely due to medicine anxiety.

Is there actually a good reason for this choice that I am just overlooking?

I just looked it up to make sure even I knew and the definition is :

Left-sided colitis affects primarily the sigmoid colon on the left side of the body and the descending colon. Symptoms can include pain on the left side, cramps, bloody diarrhea and weight loss. This type of ulcerative colitis affects the entire colon and rectum.

So, in reality, I have an even lower area of inflammation and NOT the entire left side anyway.

Steroid enemas and suppositories are more effective for rectal inflammation.

I appreciate your insight, guys. Hopefully everything remains good with these enemas. I am going to call tomorrow and ask for a refill (I only have a couple weeks left). I haven't had blood in several days. Gosh I hate typing that , but I guess it doesn't phase anyone here.
