TCM has been around for thousands of years, so naturally there are thousands of herbs and remedies they utilize, many outdated. Even though qing dai is a TCM herb it's not used the same way when it comes to treating UC. It's woad, a plant, with mechanisms of action that have been researched from a western medicine perspective, not according to TCM.
