I dont know if im doing any of this right at all. My story...i was diagnosed in 2015 with ulcerative colitis. Went to e.r. and was admitted. I was losing so much blood in the stool i almost died. I was starting to faint called 911..woke up in i.c.u. with 2 bags of blood threw my i.v. They said my blood pressure was 55over 40...i had lost to much blood. Finally had colonoscopy and discovered severe colitis. They gave me every drug ive seen on here..nothing worked. 2016 started humira..been in remission ever since. 40mg every 2 weeks. I have IBS. My doctor gives me low dose morphine so ill quit pooping 20times a day. We would have Donnatal but insurance wont pay so they pay for morphine. I also take b-12 shots, dicyclomine tab 20mg, prilosec 40mg. Im going for my 3rd colonoscopy to see if anything is improved. Tried tanning beds...dr. said no...i went anyway...i had allergic reaction so be careful😀😀😀

What would a tanning bed do? Hopefully your scope looks good. I would imagine it will since you mentioned that you're in remission. Taking pain meds on the regular is certainly not recommended, nor is it standard. I'd personally want to get off those drugs. Best of luck. smile

I am also new my first blog is it called, Angie your post helped I recently October 2016 went to ER insisted they admit me because of UC symptons that I knew nothing about I was treated in office and they suggested I come back in a week I told them there outa there mind I went to ER called my primary and told him they admit me or commit me they admitted me treatment started got outa there in 3 days it worked up until Christmas Eve while traveling to the West Coast Flare ups started had to get on Humira long distance quite a struggle got it done. That worked good for awhile had to be very assertive to get Gastro Docs to make an adjustment to the Humira just had my 3rd colonoscopy Monday a hernia repair Wednesday so now I am constipated I will go on forever I am hoping for the best I have been through a lot in my life this is the most frustrating of all and I do mean a lot......gonna stop HELPPPPPPPP
