Being in that environment would definitely put me in a compromised physical situation since I have asthma, but I'm sure my butt would eventually be reacting because of the continual distress of it. But I don't do well around any smoke smells anyway..... and feel sick with a headache, etc. Not to mention the continual anger. Fire pits are truly an outrage for me....i don't get the primal need or the fact that the whole neighbourhood needs to be depleted of fresh air while they are going. Lol, and food smokers....why???
I'm with you on fragrance, although not all are equal in the head stabbing and nausea reactions. When I'm stressed, it's definitely worse.....but let me smell horses and hearts float from my eyes!
We get smoke from northern fires and stubble burning in the fall....I wouldn't do well if I didn't have relief with recirculate and AC in my car as well as a house of my own which I can control the air quality.
Oopsie...little rant there....
What meds are you on now? I would up the rectals for sure, take an antispasmodic and do what you are already doing regarding air quality. Wear a mask when you're out, and out your clothes in the dryer for a bit when you get home.
I feel for all who are in that situation...heartbreaking to hear of the destruction and health threats.
