Is Uceris safer than steroids

I have to go back again on a high dose of steroids. Is uceris a safer option than steroids? If so, what are the side effects of Uceris and any supplement to be taken to reduce the side effect?

Between Steroids and Uceris which is the lesser evil?

Uceris is a steroid as prednisone is. The difference is uceris 90 percent topical and 10 percent systematic as it has a delayed-release coating just like lialda does. Prednisone is 100 percent systematic and that's why it causes so many annoying side effects. Uceris is capable of producing the same sorts of side effects as pred is but usually they are much, much milder. Uceris is like being on 10 mgs of pred per day, so it'll be the same sorts of effects as you had on low dose pred. For me that was increased appetite, acne, some mild mood swings or anger.

Just kmow uceris is only for mild flares. If you have a severe flare than pred is essential.

Uceris is prescribed in an 8 week course with no tapering. It can be used for mild inflammation.
