Colitis related to gastritis?

Hello. Today I had a follow up colonoscopy and an endoscopy I was hospitalized about a year and a 1/2 ago for pancolitis. Today I have moderate inflammation in the rectum area. And today they Found moderate inflammation in my stomach. They're calling it gastritis. I am wondering if this could be related to colitis or is something else causing this. I really didn't have symptoms like burning. Also wondering if you have any ideas of how to best manage.

Doubtful.....but could be autoimmune if one already has an invite to the party. Do you have Crohn's?

I would suggest you wait for biopsies biopsies to rule out infection/invaders, relation to meds or foods, etc.....and go from there.

I hope it's something treatable. Did the doctor do a blood test for h. Pylori?

No blood test. They have queationed chrohns in the past. Thanks for the reply.

Are you on prednisone? I have read that can cause gastritis

By definition, UC inflammation is restricted to the large intestine. Our Crohn's friends can have inflammation anywhere from the mouths to their anus.

Demand the blood test for h. Pylori.

I don't have Pylori. I first read it as if i do but o don't. I feel so horrible today. I do have moderate colitis in the rectum and Pylori in the gut. I have never felt this sick after a procedure before. UGH.

H. Pylori in gut? in stool samples or from biopsies?
