Wishing you all the best. I just had the surgery to remove my whole colon Dec 12. After a 5 week stay at the hospital, it came down to that. Suffered for 7 months with 15-20 BM a day pouring blood my hemoglobin was down to 68 in the hospital and I was being pumped with 50 a day of prednisone and also tried hurmia nothing worked. Surgery was 3 hours I did get a nose and mouth tube apparently I started to aspirate so they had to use a suction and pulled it out only to put it back in . When I woke up the pain in my throat was worst then my belly. The first night was rough will not lie... but every day did get a bit easier. Best advise and its hard to follow is get up the next day and try to walk. I literally wanted to kill those around me because they forced me up and to walk around the nurse's station but seeing it today I know it got me out of the hospital sooner.
You will be fine... stay strong
