ok guys long story short, been in a colitis flare about
2-3 weeks now, in and out of urgent care, they put me on the prednisone 40mg a day which has totally cleared up the blood and mucus which is good. now it seems the colon is still mad lol, cuz anytime I eat or get full full, then the hiccups start going insane, its burps and then hiccups, they tried thorazine and baclofen and neither do anything, peanut butter does help however, my question I guess is , I am definitely having some acid reflux and or Gerd, I dunno if I have GERD or not but these hiccups gotta stop, also anytime I take a deep breath they start hiccuping too, anyone ever had anything like this? my gf thinks its Gerd...

I've never had that problem in relation to UC, but as a kid, my mother would have me drink water "upside down." You basically put your lips on the far side of the cup then bend down at the waist as you drink. I've shown this to a few friends and, while not a magic bullet, does work sometimes. I hope you find a long term solution... that sounds like it would be terrible to deal with.

I get them all the time, sometimes 4x a day. Luckily they don't usually last very long. Nothing works consistently for stopping them. Sometimes it's simple breathing deeply, other times, NOTHING works. It is annoying. I don't think mine is to do with GERD, I've been dealing with it on and off for a very long time. Recently it's been happening a lot...

Nope, I haven't tried that, but it sounds like a good idea. You should get the packets
I love peanut butter, so if it helped, I wouldn't mind having a few bites.

I have fought GERD for 8 years and when I am having a bad acid reflux day I will hiccup. Reflux meds...staying away from caffeine, chocolate and spicy. Though you probably are already staying away from those things.
You can have silent reflux which means you don't have the pain of traditional reflux but you still get erosion of the esophagus over the years and don't know until you have issues swallowing food. I don't have that I get the it feels like acid is in my esophagus pain.
My GI system doesn't like me...
