Hi all,
I have taken PPIs (see brand names in subject heading) for acid reflux for two periods in my life. They helped, but I was on them a longer time than I now realize was a good idea (given all the many studies now showing their many serious side effects). Unfortunately H2 antagonists (Zantac) never worked for me.
I'm dealing with another bout of reflux and this time am wondering if I can ward it off without a PPI. I may try D-Limonene. I would consider a shorter-term use of a PPI (which seems at least relatively safe), but then my concern was this study showing starting a PPI was correlated with worsened symptoms in UC and Crohn's. I haven't had this experience myself, but wonder if anyone else has?
Thanks!!
