Biologic that might work better for UC plus Arthritis?

Recently when I came off Prednisone I could hardly get out of my chair with pains in my feet and pains literally everywhere. I thought it would pass thinking that perhaps my adrenals hadn't woken up and that my body was not producing cortisol. Three months have passed and I was still the same. I saw an endocrinologist and was tested and my cortisol levels are fine. I am shocked to find out that it is my arthritis and that Humira is not covering it.

My Rhumy suggested Plaquinol which I might have to try but the side effects sound bad. I have heard of the new biologic for Arthritis, maybe thats what I should be taking, but not even sure if I could get that here especially as it is still being tested for UC. Is there another biologic that might work better for me than Humira. I long suspected that my arthritis was worse than my UC and now I know for sure.

Poppie, I ended up with Lupus from Remicade. It took a good rheummie to figure things out. I was put on Placquenil which helped but it took awhile to kick in. After developing antibodies switched to Humira & things went downhill further.

If you decided to try the Placquenil, get a thorough eye exam prior to starting it & the dr should tell you how often to have them checked. Its been so long, I just can't remember, lol.

I think I would perhaps do some research & talk to the dr about perhaps Xeljanz.
