No family history either. I had IBS-C since I was a teen, so I did have hemmies that bled a drop or two sometimes. But then I had pancreatitis (unknown cause) in late 2014, and diagnostic testing also showed h pylori, so I got some hardcore antibiotics, which also caused gastritis. Within 6 months I started noticing worse bowel issues -- longer constipation, tenesmus, then I'd have these two week periods where I'd be super constipated and only pass small pieces of stool covered in blood and mucus, and then I'd have diarrhea for 2-3 days. Every time I'd finally be like, "Okay, gotta go to the doctor, this is maybe not hemmies" it would go away for a few months, so I would just decide it was hemmies/diet. Turns out this was mild UC for about 2 years. I truly believe that while I am genetically predisposed (I have two other conditions that they now think are autoimmune and one involves inflammation), it was those antibiotics that pulled the trigger.
