Hello all,
In remission after worst UC flare in 13 years, clear for 6 months, all good. Came down with the regular old flu two weeks ago: aches/pain/fever/fatigue, then into a cold. No gut involvement at all, not a stomach flu.
Now pretty clearly teetering on re-flaring, it seems. I've seen a few threads where people have suggested that the body's response to the flu (or any other virus / infection) can kick up the old immune system.
Any experience / thoughts here? No blood, just REALLY bubbling gut (unusual for me), bloating, crampy pain (like I ate onion rings or something bad), lots of gas. Some urgency, but not extreme or unmanageable but more than normal. Then random completely normal days. It actually seems more stomach than gut -- we all know that flare feeling.
Did not eat almost anything for 3 days of the flu, toast/ginger ale, so I knew I was in for a few days of readjustment, but,,,,ick. Have rowasa enemas in reserve, should start? Also Kefir/banana every AM, probiotics, and curcumin (active player of turmeric).
Thanks and be well!
