Anxiety and worry, and UC go together like icecream and hot summer days. Unfortunately, dealing with our anxiety and worries is something we all face to varying degrees both when flaring and it can persist into a remission. Best you can do is take reasonable precautions and try to stop the anxiety-train from getting good footing, building a head of steam and taking off; as once that crazy train is moving nothing good will happen and it's very hard to stop. No easy button for that, other than staying on top of your treatment to make accidents and urgency less likely to happen, and distracting ourselves from anxiety.
Mindfullness, meditation, yoga, and even singing badly to the steering wheel when driving, can help us cope. Many things to try from the novel to more mainstay.
