Rowasa enema on stool

Hello board,

I am a (relatively) long time lurker and 1st time poster.

I have been on nightly rowasa enemas for a bit over a month. Every morning when I have a MB, there is some "white stuff" on and intervined with my stool. Not sure if this is mucus or just parts of enema coming out... GI thinks enema, and I am not so sure...

Anyone else has similar results?

Normal with enemas.


What are yiur symptoms, how often bms, what are they like?
What's the location extent of yiur UC?

Normal to pass white/tan liquid or have your stool stained white/tan after taking a rowasa enema, as not all of that enema gets absorbed.

Mucus is white to off white, is stringy and/or sticky. Mucus can clump as well.

Q- thanks for the welcome. 1-2 BMs a day. Semi formed to "weirdly- formed". No blood (knock on wood). Currently on limited gluten, limited cow dairy. Have not had vegetables or fruits in 4 months or so.
Having those pains/spasms throughout different parts of abdomen and/or back...

Per GI - I have a minor inflammation in the descending/sigomoid parts of colon.

Including rectum, sigmoid and descending....how far in inches or cms?

I suggest you request copies of all your tests.

Your symptoms sound UC..... if it's consistent. Weirdly formed as in pieces?

Why no fruit or veggies....? They can be eaten in various forms of cooked, peeled, etc.

Antispasmodic should help some of the discomfort.

I am a bit surprised as my GI dr says my inflammation is very minor and it's less pronounced than it was in Feb 2017 when I had no symptoms at all...
