Simponi does this work , been told starting on it terrified

Hi it’s there any one t help been on enama pantasa for three weeks three trips to a&e later abdominal x rays anti sickness tablets and amoxcilian later , my consultant phoned me yesterday not happy with x Ray and want me to start on sanponi am terrified of the in known , is there people out there that have had good experience on it . Worried about side effects etc . I know I should be thinking well if it helps then all good . But before uc I never really took medication was a healthy person . Hope some one can give me advice .

I've been on remicade since 2012, a sister medication to Simponi, and have not experienced a side effect from it. The benefits far outweighs the risks with Simponi/Humira/Remicade. Nothing is without risk, there are rare but serious side effects with biologics.

Simponi is less common, but there have been some folks over the years using it successfully over the years (user BaconGirl comes to mind). Humira/remicade is more common and a more widely used.

The majority of us were young, healthy, and never took medications before UC struck. That's a common narrative with UC patients. The majority of us take medications to manage our UC.
